In the San Francisco Bay Area, many networking events are far away from where we live. Since we live on the other side of the Caldecott Tunnel, we wanted to create opportunities for others to casually connect without facing a hefty commute. Plus, our side of the bay has great local businesses, parks, and social spaces that has made networking easy and enjoyable.

We do things a little differently.
Because the weather in California is nice most of the year, we’re able to host hiking events where attendees can enjoy the great outdoors, improve their health, and network casually. We’re so lucky to have places like Mount Diablo in our own backyard!
We recently hosted a community service networking event at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and
Solano Counties. We will be incorporating multiple community service networking events
throughout each calendar year.
How we connected.
The Diablo Valley Biopharma Networking Group was founded in November of 2024 The Diablo Valley Biopharma Networking Group was founded in November of 2024 by Violet Votin, creating a space for life sciences professionals outside major biotech hubs to connect and socialize.
Despite living in different states, co-leader, Astrid Heim, met Bio Pharma Networking Group’s Outreach Director, Xandria Kovacic, through a virtual BioXchange event. After seeing all the great events that our budding group was promoting on LinkedIn, BPNG believed that we would be a great addition to the organization. We are excited to be the first chapter launched in California!
